Crisis Management
Sometimes a job layoff, a house fire, an illness or injury can set a family back. We provide emergency food, clothing and home items, as well as referrals to other community resources to help families and individuals meet basic needs.
The crisis management program is housed in our Outreach Services Center located on the Red Shield Lodge campus.
Food Pantry
Also located in the Outreach Services Center is our food pantry. It is from these shelves that we fill food orders for families and individuals in dire need of help right away.
Annually, the schools in Lee County help us with a canned food drive, usually held in October. By May, our shelves are sparse. and we begin seeking help to fill the food pantry. That is the time of year that school begins to let out and many children in needy families will rely on us for lunch throughout the summer.
Meals with Compassion
Every evening, 24/7 and 365 days a year, we open our doors and serve a hot meal to the homeless and working poor. For some, this is the only meal they have for the day. There is no charge for this meal. Evening meals are served in our Outreach Services Center.
